TURNER — The second annual Cherie Sargent Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament will be held at 7 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, at Turner Highland Golf Course.
From the proceeds, $1,000 scholarships were given to Hannah Chouinard and Ryan Pratt from Leavitt Area High School in Turner and Zach Grover from Buckfield Junior/Senior High School.
Entry fee of $50 per person includes green fees, golf cart and lunch. Special prizes will be given to participants. Donations are welcome.
Sponsorship levels for each hole are $100 for bronze, $200 for silver and $400 for gold.

Cherie Sargent passed away after a three-year battle with colon cancer in 2015. She lived in Turner and two of her children are attending the Turner Schools and two are in college. She grew up in Buckfield and graduated from the Buckfield Junior/Senior High School in 1989. She graduated from the University of Maine with a master’s degree in business administration and later received her CPA.
