EAST BETHEL — Charlotte Mary Kimball of East Bethel passed away peacefully in her sleep Monday morning, Aug. 6.
Charlotte was born June 4, 1941, the third child of 10 siblings born to Jonathan Crockett and Nannette Foster Crockett. She was born in Bethel, but some of her favorite childhood memories were from her time spent on a farm on Pottle Hill in Minot. Charlotte worked odd jobs through the years, but her favorite was apple picking at Fillebrown Orchards in Waterford.
Charlotte married the love of her life and best friend, Paul Kimball, on April 20, 1963, though they had been with each other since grade school, developing a friendship that would turn into a marriage that lasted 55 years. Charlotte and Paul raised two children, sharing their love for gardening, canning, fishing, bluegrass festivals and many other beloved outdoor activities. Most of all, Charlotte loved spending time with her family she cherished so much, whether it was playing cards with her siblings, sledding with her kids and grandkids or simply holding her great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Locke Mills Union Church, and loved working on the strawberry and blueberry festivals.
Charlotte was predeceased by her parents Jonathan (Red) and Nannette Crockett; two brothers: Robert and Teddy Crockett; and brother-in-law, Dale Kimball.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Paul Kimball; daughter, Velora Tuominen, and her husband, Bruce; son, James Kimball; four granddaughters: Brianna Tuominen and partner, Kevin Newton; Robin White and her husband, John; and Mariah and Kristen Kimball; and grandson, Cody Phillips; four great-grandchildren: Sawyer, Maggie, Waylon and Lily; sisters Grace Gibson, Esther Wilson and Jackie Crockett; brothers Howard Crockett and wife, Donna; Kenneth Crockett and wife, Laurie; Gordon (Butch) Crockett and wife, Anne; and George Crockett and wife, Carolyn; four sisters-in-law: Gloria Crockett; Geneva Pelletier and husband, Larry; Flossie Bernier and husband, Andre; Mary Smith; and Nancy Kimball; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.
