AUBURN — The Center for Workforce and Professional Development at Central Maine Community College will offer an Emergency Preparedness course from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24.

The course is designed to help participants know what to do when there is an “active shooter” situation. Learn best practices, enhanced lock-down procedures and how to draft an emergency management plan for a potentially dangerous event. Training topics include: active shooters, bomb threats, characteristics of terrorists, plan management, keys to emergency communication, and many other things to assist businesses in preparing for emergency situations.

Registration for this course is open and ongoing but space is limited. The cost of the class is $35, and the deadline for registration is Aug. 17.
