FARMINGTON — Elvina L. Miller, 98, of Jay, passed away Friday, July 27, at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington. She was born March 19, 1920 in Jay, the daughter of Sabatino and Dominica (Orsini) Luciano.
Elvina was a 1938 graduate of Livermore Falls High School. On Oct. 14, 1940, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, she married James Carlton Miller of Augusta. They enjoyed 65 years of marriage before he passed away July 5, 2006. Elvina worked at Livermore Shoe for 13 years and retired in 1983 after 16 years at Bass Shoe in Wilton. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima and a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was a member of the Jay-Livermore Falls Senior Citizens, Bass Shoe Retirees, Maine Rovers Camping and North American Camping Association.
She is survived by her grandchildren Shawn Miller and his wife Susan of Hampton Falls, N.H., and Shelly Riiska and her husband Scott of Gorham, five great-grandchildren, Scott, Shawn, Calvin, Alice and Quentin, two great-great grandchildren, Brady and Ben, her nieces, Janice St. Cyr of Mexico and Debra Therrien of Jay.
She was predeceased by her sons, Paul and Peter Miller, brothers, Nick, John and Tony Luciano and her sister, Mae Bucklin.
