MINOT — The Wellness Team at Minot Consolidated School hosted a session on Laughter Yoga, led by Mary Dempsey, with help from Anthea Thorpe and Dr. Paul Brooks.
It was part of the team’s effort this year to inspire students and staff members in make healthier choices. Among the programs were a step challenge and a walking club.
The title of the yoga program was “Laughter is the Best Medicine.” Thorpe and Brooks are trained laughter leaders. Dempsey’s first experienced Laughter Yoga in Italy. Laughter Yoga was founded in 1995 by Dr. Madan Kataria of India, where he trains people from around the world.
