AUBURN — Phyllis Griffiths Dregallo of Auburn peacefully passed away Thursday, July 5, at her home, with her loving family by her side. She was born March 28, 1929, in Johnstown, Pa., the only child of Weaver Griffiths and Thelma Corle. She attended Johnstown High School, graduating with high honors. She attended Slippery Rock University, graduating magma cum laude.
Phyllis was accepted by Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine; however, she chose to follow a career in education. She married a Marine Corps veteran and began to raise the first of her six children. Phyllis was the Lower School director at Fay School in Southboro, Mass. She taught third grade at Casady School, a coed, Episcopal day school in Oklahoma City, Okla., where she was awarded a special prize for her excellence in teaching.
Phyllis is survived by her husband of 68 years, Frank, and their six children: Jamie, Darby, Kim, Frank S., Andrew and Peter; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
