FARMINGTON — A Chesterville selectman pleaded guilty Tuesday to writing a bogus check and was ordered to pay a $150 fine, according to a court document.

Tiffany Estabrook, 40, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Farmington District Court to negotiating a worthless instrument.

She was accused of writing a $260 check to C.N. Brown, according to the complaint.

When the check bounced and Estabrook didn’t make good on it within the time allowed, the company filed a complaint.

Meanwhile, Estabrook made good on the check, but since the complaint had been filed she was issued a summons to appear in court April 24. When she didn’t show up, the court issued a warrant for her arrest.

“We all make mistakes, some bigger than others,” Estabrook said Tuesday. “It’s whether or not we learn from our mistakes. I made a mistake, I’ve learned. I’m ready to move on.”
