MEXICO – The Region 9 School of Applied Technology board is holding a special meeting Tuesday to sign the budget vote warrant, again.
The meeting begins at 4:30 p.m. in the conference room of the River Road school. The meeting is expected to last about 15 minutes.
Melanie Babb, office manager at Region 9, said attorneys discovered during the process for the purchase of the school that several minor wording changes had to be made so that the purchase closure could be complete. These include such things as adding “Maine” to the name of the school, she said.
Nothing else had changed.
Voters will still be asked to decide whether to pass a proposed $1 million secondary vocational program budget for 2003-04 and a $203,000 adult and community education program budget at a town meeting-style vote on May 20.
The Region 9 board is nearing the end of its negotiations and related paperwork for the purchase of the school. Babb said the final paperwork is scheduled to be signed May 21.
