The current immigration scene is not what the U.S. is all about. This country was created by immigrants. No one, including the heinous, benighted president, is without an immigrant in his or her background; even Native Americans are descended from Asian immigrants.

A recent headline claimed that President Trump and the GOP lawmakers were working on the immigration mess. I don’t see it.

Why not order his minions to blow up the Statue of Liberty, along with the message thereon, since he has no use for these words?:

“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

It is shameful, cruel, inhumane and just plain evil to snatch minor children from their parents’ arms. In at least one case, months before the policy was “enforced,” a four-month-old infant was pulled from its father. Now those children have been herded like cattle into cages as they sob and scream in terror, calling for “papa” or “mama.” When I watched a transcription of the cries and frantic words of toddlers begging for their parents, I was driven to sobbing and anger to think that my country has so debased itself.

The home of the free and the land of the brave is no longer free nor brave.

Outrageous.
