PARIS – Three men arrested in the robbery of a Big Apple store were indicted on Thursday by the Oxford County grand jury.
Indicted were Shaun K. O’Neil, 33, Norway; Allan L. Edwards, 25, Woodstock; and Aaron A. Aldrich, 26, Turner.
All three face the felony charge of Class A Robbery.
Oxford County Sheriff’s Department Capt. James P. Miclon said the Class A charge was sought because of the injury sustained by the store employee, not the amount of cash taken.
One of the suspects allegedly entered the West Paris Big Apple convenience store at 11:36 p.m. on March 8. He engaged the female employee in a conversation centering on the coffee there and struck her on the head when she turned.
The blow sent her into a counter, knocking out some teeth, and then to the floor.
The suspect then grabbed the cash register and escaped.
Miclon said he and four sheriff’s deputies spent 12 days doing door-to-door interviews. Information they gathered from the interviews and from telephone tips led to a suspect and eventually all three.
O’Neill and Edwards were arrested during the last week of March. Aldrich was already in jail on a probation violation charge when the warrant for his arrest was issued.
