WOOLWICH — Merrymeeting Bay Trout Unlimited’s 24th annual banquet and auction to raise funds for the “Casting to the Future” youth program will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at the Taste of Maine Restaurant. There will be fishing and non-fishing items for bid.

Writing session
BRUNSWICK — Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance is offering a full-day workshop on creating a sense of landscape and place through writing on Saturday, April 5. Cost is $55 for members; $75 for others. Pre-registration is required. Call 729-6333 to register.
The session will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Curtis Memorial Library, and participants should bring a brown bag lunch. It is a follow-up workshop to one held on March 15, but participants need not attend both. Instructor will be Erika Waters, PhD.
The workshop will explore personal essay, description and memoir writing through selected reading materials and writing in a workshop setting. Participants will be encouraged to submit these or other works for consideration in the book of selected essays on special places in Maine to be produced in collaboration with the alliance and the Wilderness Society.
YMCA Camp
WINTHROP — The YMCA Camp of Maine is accepting registrations for its overnight and day camp programs on Lake Cobbosseecontee in East Winthrop.
The camp’s 88th season will run from June 29 to Aug. 23 with one- and two -week overnight sessions available for boys and girls ages 8 to 16.
Special programs include leader-in-training sessions, Teen Adventure Camp and Woods, Waters and Wheels outdoor adventure trip programs.
The camp also offers a day camp program for children ages 5 to 9 from June 23 to Aug. 15.
