CUMBERLAND — St. Dom’ s narrowly defeated Greely 14-13 to pick up a big girls’ lacrosse victory Tuesday.

The Saints (7-2) are second in the Class C Heal point standings and ninth in the latest Varsity Maine girls’ lacrosse poll. The Rangers, meanwhile, are second in the Class B Heals and fourth in the Varsity Maine poll.

Caroline Gastonguay paced St. Dom’s with six goals and six assists, followed by Charlotte Gastonguay with four goals. Mia Leslie and Emma Theriault chipped in two goals a piece. Simone Long saved four shots for the Saints.

Lewiston 19, Bangor 1

LEWISTON — Lewiston jumped out to a 12-0 halftime lead and kept up the pace in the second half to earn a 19-1 girls’ lacrosse victory over Bangor on Tuesday.

Christine Chasse led Lewiston (5-4) with five goals and four assists, while Kelsie Lynch scored three goals. The Blue Devils had nine goal scorers, including one from Katie Lemieux who also chipped in three assists.

Claire Thompson of Bangor (0-8) scored the lone goal for the Rams. Maddy Boudreaux saved 22 shots for the Rams.

Boys’ lacrosse

Cony 9, Edward Little 8

AUGUSTA — Edward Little held a two-goal halftime lead, but Cony exploded for seven goals in the second half to defeat the Red Eddies 9-8 in a boys’ lacrosse matchup Tuesday.

Cony (4-6) scored three goals in the third and matched the Eddies with four in the fourth to hang on for the victory. The Rams were led by Nick Robinson’s five goals, followed by four players who scored a goal each.

Edward Little (3-7) was paced by Spencer Fahn with four goals. Eli Thibodeau scored twice.

Gunnar Winslow saved seven shots for Edward Little, while Cony’s Kamryn Horton saved 10 shots.

Oak Hill 17, Oxford Hills 2

WALES — Brandon Glover made six saves to help Oak Hill trample Oxford Hills 17-2 in boys’ lacrosse Tuesday.

Xavier Michaud of Oak Hill (9-2) led the team with six goals, followed by Nate Marcotte with four goals and two assists. Noah Moring scored twice and helped out with three assists.

Oxford Hills (2-9) received a goal each from Jacob Lang and Zavier Balzano.

Gray-New Gloucester 5, Wells 3

GRAY — After giving up two runs in the first inning to the top team in Class B South, Gray-New Gloucester scored one in the first and three in the second to hand Wells its second loss of the season in a 5-3 victory in baseball on Tuesday.

Patriots pitcher Will Shufeld gave up a single, double, and a triple in the first inning but found his groove after that. Shufeld sat down batters in order in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to earn the victory, moving Gray-NG to 8-5. Catcher Nick McCann helped out with two hits. An insurance run was tacked on in the fifth.

Mike Wrigley of Wells (11-2) earned a triple and a single but it wasn’t enough. Wells would score one run in the seventh but stalled after that.

Dirigo 27, Wiscasset 2

DIXFIELD — Dirigo scored 19 runs in the first inning and cruised to a 27-2 victory over Wiscasset in baseball action Tuesday.

Luke Leuders paced Dirigo (6-8) with four hits, three RBIs and scored three runs. Cam Turner had a double and scored three runs. Seven Dirigo batters had multiple hits.

Wiscasset (0-13) was led by James Hodson, who hit two singles.

Oak Hill 10, Telstar 2

BETHEL — Gavin Rawstron pitched a solid game, giving up just two runs on three hits as Oak Hill defeated Telstar 10-2 in an MVC baseball matchup Tuesday.

Oak Hill’s offense jumped on Telstar early, scoring four runs in the first inning and another in the second. Reid Cote of Oak Hill (5-8) hit a double and a single in the win, while Rawstron also contributed two hits to his own cause.

Tyler Hill and Tristen Lilly both had hits for Telstar (2-11).

Rangeley 11, Valley 4

RANGELEY — Brian Williamson drove in four runs to pace Rangeley in a 11-4 baseball win over Valley on Tuesday.

Williams and Kyle LaRochelle each had a double and a single for the Lakers (7-5). LaRochelle drove in two runs.

Connor Hall earned the win for Rangeley. Joe Thomas took the loss for Valley (0-9).

Softball

Valley 20, Rangeley 9

RANGELEY — Valley scored 13 runs in the final three innings to solidify their 20-9 win over Rangeley on Tuesday in a Class D South softball game.

Valley (5-6) opened the game with four runs in the first inning. Pitcher Elizabeth Cullins got the win on the mound and also had a team-high four hits in the contest. Kendra Sweet added three hits for the victorious visitors.

Sydney Royce of Rangeley (4-7) had a double and a single in the loss.

Wiscasset 21, Dirigo 10

DIXFIELD — Wiscasset scored 11 runs in the fifth inning to defeat Dirigo 21-10 in a softball game on Tuesday.

Sydnie Thayer of Wiscasset (3-10) had two hits and four RBIs, part of the team’s five total hits.

Ashley Perrault of Dirigo (3-11) hit a single and a triple in the loss.
