Cafe looking at teen suicide
LEWISTON — The growing number of teen suicides will be discussed at Lifetree Cafe at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, May 20, at South Lewiston Baptist Church, 1919 Lisbon Road.
The program, “Exploring Teen Suicide: A Necessary Conversation,” will feature a filmed interview with Shay Black, a woman whose son unexpectedly took his own life.
In the interview, Black discusses the aftermath of losing her son. “The toughest thing about suicide is the person with all the answers takes them with him,” she said.
During the program, Lifetree participants will have an opportunity to discuss what could be contributing to the epidemic of teen suicide.
