AUBURN — United Way of Androscoggin County, in partnership with Advocates for Children, Central Maine Community College and Clover Pre-School, is hosting the eighth annual Touch-A-Truck event on Saturday, May 5, at Central Maine Community College, 1250 Turner St.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a quiet hour from 10 to 11 a.m. This year’s event will feature eight food trucks, including Alabama’s BBQ Catering, Cannoli Joe’s, Maine-ly Meatballs, PB&ME, Pinky D’s Poutine Truck, Shut up N’ Eat it, Eighty 8 Donut Cafe and Top It Frozen Dessert Bar. The trucks will have their full menus and will donate a portion of their food sales to United Way.

Touch-A-Truck is a free community event for children and the young at heart to interact and experience dozens of vehicles that will include Spectrum Health Care Partners’ Scrubby Mobile (an outfitted Zamboni), fire trucks, a backhoe, boom truck from IRC and dump truck. Maine’s Big Z will broadcast live.

There will also be kids’ activities such as face-painting and a temporary tattoo station. Follow United Way of Androscoggin County on Facebook for the latest event information.
