AUBURN — Verna J. Ayotte Greeley, 82, of East Poland, died Friday evening, April 13, at Clover Manor in Auburn, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Millinocket on April 3, 1936, a daughter of Joseph and Gertrude Ayotte. Verna attended the St. Martin of Tours in Millinocket.

As a young woman, Verna married Arthur D. Pelletier and had four children, residing in East Millinocket. They divorced in 1968.

She later met and married Robert K. Greeley, settling in Auburn. There she helped with administration at his business, Greeley’s Garage on Washington Street in Auburn. She also had worked for a short time at Bonon Footwear.

Verna enjoyed cooking and was known for delicious chocolate donuts. A talented craftsperson, Verna loved to sew and had made beautiful braided rugs through the years. Her husband, Bob, was a longtime racer of stock cars and Verna was his biggest fan, enjoying traveling to all of the racing venues.

She is survived by her children, Stephen Pelletier, Jean Komulainen, Janice Thomas, Daniel Pelletier and Jewel Nolan; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
