PARIS — Students in School Administrative District 17 will be dismissed one hour later than usual for two weeks — April 23-27 and April 30-May 4 — to make up two snow days, Superintendent Rick Colpitts has announced.
The extended days were approved by the state education commissioner, Colpitts told the school board April 2.
According to information from Colpitts’ office, students at Oxford Hills Middle School and Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School will be dismissed at 2:52 p.m., except half-day Wednesdays when dismissal will be 1:52 p.m.
In general, elementary school students will be dismissed about 4:05 p.m., except Wednesdays when dismissal will be about 3:05 p.m.
Colpitts said a survey of all parents will be done following the two weeks to help determine whether the district should continue the pilot program for making up snow days.
Students recently attended school on a workshop day to make up one snow day.
The district used nine snow days this school year.
