LEWISTON — Maine Event Comedy presents Manchester, New Hampshire’s Jay Chanoine at Baxter Brewing, Friday, April 6 at 7 p.m. He’ll be joined by Leah Douglass, Kathleen DeMarle and Danny Jordan.
Described by AXS as “the funniest comedian you don’t know yet,” Chanoine honed his cynical perspective and sharp wit on stages throughout the east coast for the past nine years. His debut album “Come On Feel Chanoine” was released in 2015 and captures his passion for pop culture minutiae, married life, and dairy products. Chanoine is a mainstay on JT Habeersaat’s “Altercation Punk Comedy Tour” and enjoys cheeseburgers, Junior Mints and a handful of people.
Douglass is a familiar face in the Maine scene. She was a part of last year’s Portland Comedy Festival and Women of New England Show. She’s a regular at Blue and Lincoln’s in Portland, and aspires to not get fired from her actual job for doing stand-up.
Boston’s DeMarle shares tales of living with a one-eyed dog and the woes of being taller than the average American man. She’s performed in the Cleveland, Boston, and Charm City (Baltimore) comedy festivals, and will soon appear on Amazon Prime’s “Comics Watching Comics.”
With an absurdist wit and alternative style, Danny Jordan has delighted audiences young and old in venues including The Gold Room, The Comedy Studio and ImprovBoston.
The show is free and for ages 21-and-older. Baxter Brewing is located at 130 Mill St. FMI call 207-513-0742 or email maineeventcomedy@gmail.com
