ATHENS (WGME) — Maine State Police arrested a couple from Athens on crack cocaine charges Thursday.
Troopers said they went to 26-year-old Tyler Watson’s home for a probation check.
Tyler’s wife, 28-year-old Tara Watson, and two of their four children were also home at the time of the check.
Inside, troopers said they found 12 baggies of suspected crack cocaine, with street value of $1,500.
They said they also seized 57 hypodermic needles, crack pipes, and other drug paraphernalia, including scales and $248 in suspected drug proceeds.
Troopers contacted the Maine Department of Health and Human Services who took custody of the children.
The husband and wife were charged with unlawful trafficking in schedule W drugs (crack cocaine), endangering the welfare of a child, possession of hypodermic apparatuses, and sale and use of drug paraphernalia.
They were taken to the Somerset County Jail where bail was set at $50,000.
