PERU — A Family Fun Friday Easter Event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 16, hosted by the Friends of Peru Elementary, at the Peru Community Center. It is for all ages and all activities are free.

There will be egg-decorating, Easter crafts and games as well as kids bingo and kids karaoke. For older teens and adults, there will be board games, cribbage and socialization opportunities.

Two Easter Eggs Hunts will be held — indoors for age 10 and younger and an outside nighttime hunt with flashlights for those age 11 to 18. Those participating should bring flashlights.

There will be hot dogs, popcorn, drinks and snacks available to purchase.

To make sure there are enough eggs to decorate and to hide, those interested in attending should go to the Facebook page, “Family Fun Friday Easter Event,” and comment on how many children will attend.

This program is for all, not just Peru residents. The focus is on spending time without electronics, giving families an opportunity to meet other families and enjoy the community center.

The program is looking for donations of a Foosball or ping pong table to open a teen center in in the Community Center in the near future. Contact Gail True at 207-650-7939.

The PES Community Center offers other programs, including Servant Heart Food Pantry, senior citizens center (with weekly bingo on Tuesday and Thursday mornings), Girl Scouts, Everyone Acts theater performances, Toddler Time on Thursday mornings, American Heart First Aid and CPR classes, crafting on Mondays, paint and take classes and exercise classes.
