DEAR SUN SPOTS: On Jan. 12 about 5:15 p.m. at the Irving station at 675 Main St. in Lewiston, someone in a red pickup truck with a license plate number ending in WA backed into our 2009 silver Pontiac G6 then left the scene.

I was inside the convenience store at the time and did not see the accident. A customer who did witness the hit-and-run provided me with the license number and exited the store before I could ask for his name and phone number. Can you help me find this good Samaritan?

— Larry, Auburn

ANSWER: It would be wonderful if this kind person contacted Sun Spots so you have the privilege of thanking him properly.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I sent a letter (Sun Spots, Feb. 16) to you about needing galvanized metal buckets. A very nice reader responded to me. I was able to purchase two heavy-duty buckets that I can use to carry out my wood stove ashes. Thank you so much, Sun Spots!
