CANTON — The Canton Bicentennial Committee held its second incorporation event on Feb. 10 at the Canton Historical Society. This year’s fundraiser theme was “Mardi Gras” and featured authentic food, as well as trivia, door prizes, the crowning of the king and queen and a second line dance.
There were approximately 85 people in attendance. Committee members Kathy Walker, Phyllis Ouellette, Loretta Blancato, Julie Martin, Liz Rothrock and Susan Moore worked for months to prepare for the event.
Each February leading up to 2021, the committee will hold a special incorporation event to commemorate the Town of Canton’s actual incorporation date as a fundraiser to benefit the three-day bicentennial event in August of 2021, celebrating the town’s 200th birthday.
