FRYEBURG — The Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center’s “Bradley Backstage” concert series presents The Bradley Jazz Collective at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 2.
The band, comprised of esteemed local musicians Craig Bryan (drums), Al Hospers (bass), Mimi Rohlfing (vocals), Mike Sakash (saxophone) and Jed Wilson (piano), will perform the music of jazz legend Thelonious Monk in celebration of the year that would’ve marked his 100th birthday (2017).
Monk was one of the greatest composers of the 20th century. The late pianist wrote about 70 songs during his career – many of which have become standards, including the most recorded jazz composition of all time, “Round Midnight.”
Bradley Backstage concerts ‘flip’ the theater and seat the audience on stage with the performers, creating a much more intimate and unforgettable live concerts experience.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students. Order online at fryeburgacademy.org/pac, or by calling the box office at 207-935-9232. Tickets will also be available at the door on the night of the show when the house opens at 6:30. The LHE/PAC is located at 18 Bradley St.
