TURNER — North Parish Hill Road will be one lane this week as the state begins building a bridge over the Nezinscot River, Town Manager Kurt Schaub told selectmen Monday evening.

The bridge is expected to be completed in late May. Meanwhile, a a temporary traffic signal will be installed.

In another highway matter, it was announced the state will pave Route 4 this summer and build a new rest near Mason Road.

The Road Committee’s list of repairs this year includes Fern Street, East Hebron Road, South Livermore Road, Pleasant Pond Road, Bryant Road, Beach Street and Young Road. The committee is investigating whether to use a chip sealant instead of cold patch.

The Budget Committee elected Alex Cutter as chairman and Matthew Mahoney as vice chairman.

The Comprehensive Planning Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. March 13 at the Town Office.

Selectmen will hold a workshop at 6:30 p.m Thursday.

The next regular selectmen meeting is at 6:30 p.m. March 6.
