STONEHAM — Timothy J. Barker, 69, of Stoneham, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Feb. 13, at his family homestead in Stoneham.
He was born on Sept. 26, 1948, in Lewiston, the oldest child of four to Carlton F. and Mertice (Berry) Barker Jr. He attended local schools, graduating from Fryeburg Academy and later the University of Southern Maine with a degree in education.
Tim worked as a school teacher in Maine and Florida until his travels took him to North Carolina, where he lived until retirement brought him back to Maine. As a younger man he also served in the National Guard.
He enjoyed traveling the U.S. and around the world. He was very involved in numerous historical societies as well as the Mayflower Society.
Tim is survived by siblings, Danny and his wife, Geneva, Thomas and his wife, Nora, and Andrea Fillebrown and her husband, Gus; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents.
