SOUTH PARIS — Galen I. Veayo Jr., 84, passed peacefully into eternal life on Thursday, Feb. 8, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on Oct. 25, 1933, in Houlton to the late Galen and Mary Veayo and was married 57 years to the late Pauline Limoges Veayo.

Galen “Spike” is survived by his loving family: daughters Irene and Laurie; son Timothy; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved and cherished. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph, and sister, Margaret.

A faithful member of St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Norway, he relished serving in the choir. Galen’s love and passion for music spoke deeply to his heart. One of his many favorite musical activities while at Hebron Academy was singing in the Barbershop Quartet. Also while at Hebron Academy he loved coaching multiple sports. Spending time with family and friends was a cherished part of Galen’s life. He will be greatly missed by all.
