I saw on television a news report about a man in Mississippi who has petitioned the Department of Agriculture to let him use food stamps on kibble and pet treats. The petition has attracted numerous supporters.

People should not have animals if they cannot afford to feed them.

Food stamps are for people who can’t work, not for animals.

I am totally against using food stamps to buy pet food.
