MINOT — The Minot and Mechanic Falls Democrats will meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, at the Minot Town Office.

College planning workshops offered
LEWISTON — The Maine Educational Opportunity Center will host free workshops, “Essentials of College Planning,” for age 19 and older at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 21 and March 27 and Tuesday, Feb. 27, at Lewiston Career Center, 5 Mollison Way.

Food drive for SeniorsPlus
AUBURN — SeniorsPlus will hold a food drive for seniors in need through Feb. 14 at 774 Center St.
Foods gathered will be used by SeniorsPlus to create emergency food packs of nonperishable foods for distribution to people suffering from hunger. Individuals who wish to contribute to the food drive may drop off nonperishable items.
Items on the wish list for the food drive include nonperishable foods (dry goods, canned foods, etc.) suitable for snacks, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Soda, candy, items packaged in glass and bulk quantities of rice, flour or sugar are discouraged.
The overall program goal of SeniorsPlus, which is headquartered in Lewiston, is to assist older adults and adults with disabilities in Franklin, Oxford and Androscoggin counties to remain safely at home for as long as possible.
Paint party to benefit Leavitt HS class
SABATTUS — A Paint Party FUNdraiser for Leavitt Project Graduation 2018 will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, at 136 Sabattus Road.
Each guest will be guided step by step to create their own canvas. No experience is required, and all art materials will be provided.
