RANGELEY — Rangeley Friends of the Arts has closed its movie theater temporarily to create a first-run movie house.
The movie theater, inside Lakeside Theater, will be closed during January and February to complete renovations so the new projector, sound system and other equipment can be installed.
The Movie Initiative fundraising drive met its goal for the project, thanks to volunteers and donors.
All of the other Rangeley Friends of the Arts programs such as the Creative After School Arts program, The Lakeside Contemporary Art Gallery, student music and dance lessons, music and dance recitals and Winter DIVA show, Feb. 23-25, will take place.
The RFA plans to have new movies starting again in late spring.
The theater is at 2493 Main St.
