LEWISTON — Ross Ewen MacDonald, of Turner, passed away Thursday, Nov. 9. Second of 11 children, Ross was born March 14, 1927, in North Attleboro, Mass., to George and Susan (Ewen) MacDonald.

When he was 18 he joined the U.S. Navy and served on a troop ship in the South Pacific until the end of World War II.

On Nov. 13, 1948, he married the love of his life, Marjorie Jean (Larsen) MacDonald, of Wrentham, Mass. They had one child, Ross E. MacDonald Jr., and were happily married until her passing in 2013.

Ross worked for many years at Whiting & Davis in Plainville, Mass. He was manager of the safety division of Whiting & Davis, as well as a proud member and president of the Foreman’s Club in the Attleboro area.

In 1999, Ross and Marjorie moved to Turner to be near their son and grandchildren. They made many wonderful friends at Hillview Estates.

Ross is survived by one brother, Laurie MacDonald; and three sisters; a son, Ross Jr. and his wife, Jeanette of Livermore; four grandchildren, Ross, Megan, Aaron and Jill; and three great-grandchildren, Kathryn Rose, Aaron Theodore and Isabella Lenore.
