NATIONAL CITY, Calif. — Timothy A. Guy, of National City, Calif., passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, Oct. 18. He was born in Lewiston on Aug. 13, 1953, the son of the late George Guy and June Guy. He attended Auburn schools and graduated from Edward Little High School with the Class of 1971.

After high school he went to work for the Bates Mill with his father and then attended and graduated from the Boston School of Communications, which was originally located on Yawkey Way across from Fenway Park. Tim was an avid sports fan and a longtime fan of the Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots, as well as his love for the Padres and the Chargers.

After graduation, Tim enlisted in the U.S. Navy and traveled the world. He met his wife, Evangeline Balais, and they were married Jan. 12, 1977. He also was a veteran of the Gulf War aboard the USS O’Brien.

In 1998, after 24 years in the Navy, he attained the rank of chief, subsequently retiring in San Diego. Tim also worked for the Naval Exchange in San Diego for a number of years and also for the San Diego Padres at PETCO park as a vendor supervisor.

Tim leaves behind his wife, Vangie; and their sons, Elmer Balais and partner, Gregg Hall of Honolulu, Hawaii, Tomdiel Guy and his wife, Rachel, and their two sons, Keoni Saberon and Jayden Saberon, of San Diego. His brother, John Guy and his wife, Amanda Guy from Buckfield; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Tim was predeceased by his parents, George E.H. Guy and June Guy; a brother, Steven George; and a sister, Kristy Lynn.
