LEWISTON — Reimagined for the 21st century, “Diary of a Madman” will be presented from Thursday, Nov. 9, to Monday, Nov. 13, in Schaeffer Theatre at Bates College, 329 College St.

Nikolai Gogol’s classic 1835 short story is directed by senior lecturer in theater, Kati Vecsey, and performed as a senior thesis project by Nathaniel Stephenson of Ellsworth.

The five performances are: 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Monday, Nov. 9, 10 and 13; 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12.

It is free but tickets are required and available at Eventbrite. $5 donations will be gratefully accepted.
