Kudos to Julie-Ann Baumer for the incisive, sensitive, thorough and completely enjoyable series on the beloved Saints Peter and Paul Basilica. At times, “Words are but beggars at our door.”

That magnificent edifice and house of worship has been one of Lewiston-Auburn’s imposing tributes to a courageous, generous and hard-working people who came with little and helped build the Twin Cities.

To be a Franco-American with roots in Quebec is a legacy of great price. As a basilica, it is now home to all peoples.

I thank Baumer for forging its history and beauty into the lives of readers.
