I support Claire Nacinovich for an at-large position on the Auburn School Board. As a working parent and a community liaison, she will help the board take a clear-eyed look at the policies of the department.

Auburn’s ninth graders are required to graduate with a proficiency-based diploma. The details of this system are not worked out, yet the teachers and students have been thrown into it, learning by trial and error. To do this, Auburn is asking for professional development time for teachers, created through early release for middle and high school students.

Nacinovich supports teachers but knows that professional development can be done without taking instructional time from students.

Residents can depend on her to ask critical questions and not rubber stamp complex new systems through the school committee.

I support a better Auburn school system so I will vote for Claire Nacinovich. She is for the people.
