FARMINGTON — Nellie Dragalin, 97, died Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Sandy River Health Care Center in Farmington surrounded by her family. She was a resident of Dixfield.
Born in Seymour, Conn., on February 1, 1920, she was a daughter of Roman and Efrosinia (Anasovich) Zenick. Nellie graduated from Seymour High School with the class of 1938. She worked in Conn. for the U.S. Rubber Co. doing clerical work, following that she worked for 25 years at W.E. Bassett Co. in the Packing Dept. and following retirement she worked for Ansonia Savings Bank.
Nellie was a volunteer for pre-k at St. Athanasius St. John School in Rumford for 10 years; she loved to cook and kept a lot of family recipes going throughout the family. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren.
Nellie was married in Ansonia, Conn., on November 22, 1950, to Alex Dragalin who died June 23, 1983. Survivors include two daughters, Karen Wieditz and her husband, Kurt, of New Jersey and The Honorable Nancy Carlson and her husband, Gus, of Dixfield; three granddaughters, Dr. Kaitlyn Wieditz Ooms and her husband, Michael, of Va., Courtney Carlson of Malden, Mass., Taryn Carlson of Elmira, N.Y., and many nieces and nephews.
