LIVERMORE — Highway Foreman Roger Ferland told selectpersons Tuesday night that paving on Robertson Road is scheduled to begin this week or next, depending on the availability of contractor Bruce Manzer.

Culverts have been replaced and brush cut back in preparation, he said.

Administrative Assistant Amy Byron will post an update on the town’s Facebook page when a more definite date is known.

In other business, selectpersons approved hiring Justin Merrill of Merrill’s Garage in Jay to repair or replace the head gasket on the 2007 International plow truck.

Ferland contacted three companies and received quotes from two: $7,300 from Merrill and $8,630 from Portland North Truck Center in Falmouth.

Murray’s Truck Service in Turner didn’t response because they are not available until the end of October, Ferland said.

Ferland said the plow truck has been leaking antifreeze for the past three years. The source was finally discovered when the fender was taken off to fix the linkage on the clutch.

“Nine times out of 10 the head gasket needs to be replaced.

Ferland said it will take a week or more to get the parts.
