LEWISTON — Dorothy Elizabeth Walker, 99, of Sabattus, Maine, passed away on Thursday August 24, 2017 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. She was born in Lisbon, Maine, October 9, 1917, a daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth (Hoyle) Carville. She attended local schools graduating from Lisbon High School. On June 18, 1937, she married the love of her life, Elwood Walker, and they were happily married for 60 years until his death in 1997. She was a loving housewife who dedicated herself to her family’s well-being. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, The Ladies’ Aid and The Pejepscot snowmobile club of Lisbon Falls. She was an avid Red Sox fan who enjoyed cooking, gardening and “Dancing with the Stars.” She cherished her time spent with family and in her later years communicating with them on the phone on a daily basis.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Russ Walker and wife Shulie of Windham, NH; her granddaughter, Dr. Terri Walker-Martin and husband Jim Martin of Hopkinton, MA; 2 sisters, Florence Brewer of Lisbon Falls, and Edna Foote and husband James of Lewiston; sister-in-law: Gladys Carville of Lisbon; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Elwood Walker; brothers, Willard, Linwood, Clarence, Lester and Albert Carville; and sisters, Gertrude Pillsbury, Eva Pillsbury, Ruth Berry and Geneva Hartford.
