LISBON — St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church is offering a free seminar, “The Way of Harmony,” led by the Rev. Dr. W. Beau Wagner, church rector, from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 19.

“The desire to live in harmony, with each other, with nature, even with God has been one of humanity’s great and ancient quests. This seminar is about how the Christian tradition gives guidance and practical exercises for developing our ability to live in harmony,” said Wagner.

Wagner, leader of St. Matthew’s Church since 2007, graduated with an M.Div from the Alliance Theological Seminary in May 2007 and was ordained an Episcopal priest at St. Matthew’s by Bishop William Love.

Wagner grew up in Port Washington, Long Island, spending childhood summers at Huletts Landing on Lake George. After graduating from Portsmouth Abbey School in Rhode Island, he attended Boston University, receiving a degree in religion.

While studying at the American University of Cairo, Wagner accepted admittance into Georgetown University where he received law and accounting degrees. After several positions in accounting, he became executive director of the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of Greater New York where he served for 15 years. He is married to Debra and their sons are Breck and Becket.

A free lunch will be provided. Reservations are required.
