to show’s top three

WINTHROP — Plans for Winthrop’s 30th Sidewalk Art Festival are underway and the Winthrop Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications from artists and crafters who would like to take part in the event.  The festival will be held Saturday, Aug. 19,  from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. in downtown Winthrop.

This year, the Chamber will give out awards to the show’s top three artists or crafters.

Last year, the festival included live music and food from local restaurants and drew hundreds of people to downtown Winthrop, this year, the Chamber hopes to add several new artists, increase community involvement and offer a variety of entertainment and refreshments.

The early registration discount for applications received before June 15, is $50; after June 15, the fee is $60. The final deadline for registration is Aug. 1.

The Chamber is also seeking businesses, nonprofit groups or volunteers who would like to sponsor the festival or get involved in planning or assisting with the event.
