LIVERMORE FALLS — A woman and her 12-year-old grandson escaped their mobile home Thursday after it caught fire at 203 Pine Ridge Loop.

When firefighters arrived, the home was full of fire, Deputy Chief Scott Shink said. 

Thirty-four firefighters from several towns responded to the 3:32 p.m. call.

Carmen Pelton reported the fire after she and her grandson got out. Two other family members were not home at the time.

Members of the Office of the Maine State Fire Marshal are investigating the cause, Shink said. The fire is believed to have started in a bedroom, he said.

The home was heavily damaged and is not livable, Shink said.

The American Red Cross was called to help the family. The home was not insured.

No one was injured, he said.

Firefighters responded from Livermore Falls, Jay, Livermore, Wilton, Fayette, Leeds and Wayne. The latter three towns sent tanker trucks.

Livermore Falls police officer Vernon Stevens also assisted. Pine Ridge Loop is off Route 106.
