DEAR SUN SPOTS: As we anticipate spring, flower shows come to mind. I am wondering if Sun Spots might have dates to both the Portland and Boston shows. On the same note, since parking at both sites is both difficult and pricey, might there be local bus trips planned? Thanks again for your help. — No name, Lewiston.

ANSWER: Sun Spots is sure that we are all eagerly anticipating springtime, and what better way to enjoy the season than to tour beautiful displays of flowers and garden gear?

The Boston Flower & Garden Show will return to the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston on Wednesday, March 22 through Sunday, March 26. There is nearby parking and public transportation available.

A day-trip tour departs from Portland from vipchartercoaches.com. The cost is $59 and includes tickets to the show.

The Downeaster Train Service is also offering a travel package for the Boston show. The cost is between $100 to $125, and includes round-trip train fare, transfer to the Trade Center and tickets to the show. You can see the details at downeasterpackages.com.

The Portland Flower Show took a hiatus in 2016 with the promise of returning in 2017. However, there have been no updates about their return.

And, then there’s the Maine Home (and garden) Show in Lewiston next weekend at the Colisee.

The show is open Saturday, March 18, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 19, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
