FARMINGTON — A Wilton man pleaded guilty Friday to sexually assaulting a girl under age 14 on April 22, 2016, according to a court document.
Wilton police arrested Lance Woodbury, 40, on a Class A gross sexual assault charge May 25, 2016.
Woodbury entered his guilty plea in Franklin County Superior Court. Sentencing is scheduled for April 26.
A conviction on the charge carries a penalty of up to 30 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
The Wilton Police Department received a referral from Maine Department of Health and Human Services, Chief Heidi Wilcox said previously.
Sgt. Chad Abbott launched an investigation. Wilton police interviewed Woodbury at the Farmington Police Department in May 2016, and Woodbury was arrested afterward, Wilcox said last year.
A Maine State Police detective assisted Wilton with the investigation.
