The Maine Music Society Chorale and Orchestra, under the direction of John Corrie,  will present the magnum opus Mass in B Minor by Johann Sebastian Bach,  Saturday, March 25, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, March 26, at 3 p.m., at the Genderon Franco Center, 46 Cedar St., Lewiston. Bach spent decades composing the Mass in B Minor and finally assembled it near the end of his life.  It has been widely hailed as one of the greatest compositions of all time.  The Gendron France Center’s excellent acoustics and beautiful stained glass windows provide a splended venue for 66 blended voices, six soloists and 26 musicians to perform the master’s masterpiece. Professional soloists lending their voices to  this special presentation are:  Elisabeth Marshall, Sarah Bailey, Teresa Harold, Martin Lescault, Carl Steidel and MMS artistic director Corrie, who is also directs the Bates College choral program. Tickets  are $25 for adults; $22 for seniors; $10 for students. Children under 12 are free when accompanie by an adult.
