DEAR SUN SPOTS: I had a recipe for chocolate mousse that I have lost. It was made with an avocado, cocoa, honey, vanilla and cinnamon. I cannot remember the measurements. It was in the Hannaford flier years ago. I am hoping you or one of your readers might have it. It is very good and I would like to make it again. Thanks. — Rose, Poland.

ANSWER: If anyone has this recipe from a Hannaford flier, please write to Sun Spots.

Here are a couple of recipes via the world wide web:

From Martha Stewart (marthastewart.com/1050437/chocolate-pudding):

3 avocados

6 tbs cocoa powder

¼ cup raw honey

1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Sea salt

Puree avocados, cocoa powder, honey, and vanilla in a food processor until smooth. Sprinkle pudding with salt before serving.

A similar recipe but with a few different ingredients from the Daily Burn (dailyburn.com/life/recipes/vegan-avocado-chocolate-mousse-recipe):

2 medium-sized ripe avocados

1/2 cup pure maple syrup

1/2 cup cocoa powder

1 tbs coconut oil

1 tsp vanilla extract

Pinch of sea salt

Fresh berries and shredded coconut for garnish (optional)

Scoop out the ripe avocado flesh into a food processor. Add the rest of the ingredients to the food processor and process until smooth.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I would like to reach out to your readers and ask if anyone witnessed a hit-and-run accident at the Market Place Mall on Main St. in Lewiston on Friday, Feb. 17, between 6 and 8 p.m. It must have been a white vehicle that hit my black Toyota Rav4. If anyone has any information, please contact me by e-mail at treeannz@aol.com. Thank you. — Terri, Lewiston.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Is it true that one has to report to the IRS about being on MaineCare? A friend told me she got a letter from the state of Maine. I told her it could be a copy and a scam. Am I right? — Concerned, Lewiston.

ANSWER: Any tax questions should be handled by a tax professional or call the IRS at 800-829-1040, especially if some kind of scam is suspected.

It is not unusual to have to report health coverage information because of the health care law. Forms 1095-A, 1095-B, or 1095-C may be received from the IRS with coverage information and she may need that information when filing her individual income tax return. More information can be found at irs.gov/affordable-care-act.
