PORTLAND — Roger A. Jacques, 81, of Auburn died Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Maine Medical Center in Portland with his loving family by his side following a brief illness.
He was born in Fairfield, on June 25, 1935, the son of the late Alfred and Elizabeth (Pellerin) Jacques and had been a resident of the Auburn community for most of his life.
He married Jeannine (Pelletier) Jacques on June 8, 1957. They celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary 3 days before she passed away on June 11, 2015.
Roger spent most of his life as a local business owner and truck driver until his retirement.
He loved to spend time outside doing yard work; planting flowers and shrubs was his relaxation. He was a loving Dad and Pepere who loved attending all of his grandchildren’s sporting events. Roger also enjoyed spending many of his evenings with his friends at the Bingo Hall.
He is survived by three daughters, Lynn Grenier and her husband, Louis, of Lewiston, Patricia Holt and her husband, Kenneth, of Lisbon and Pamela Reynolds and her husband, Bill, of Poland; three sons, Michael Jacques and his wife, Kathy, of Austin, Texas, Russell Jacques and his partner, Hiram Carrington, of Pasadena, Calif., and David Jacques and his wife, Shelly, of Poland. Roger has 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild on the way.
