FRYEBURG – Bradley Backstage presents the final Encounters in Sound concert with pianist Jed Wilson at the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center Friday, Feb. 17,  at 7:30 p.m. Wilson, best known for his appearances on NPR’s “A Prairie Home Companion,”  and collaborations with singer/songwriter Heather Masse, will be accompanied by saxophonist Mike Sakash.

Sakash holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts in saxophone performance, African-American/jazz studies, and music education, as well as a master’s degree in jazz studies and contemporary media from the Eastman School of Music.  He has performed, recorded and toured with the Phoenix Jazz Project and the Traverser Saxophone Quarter, in addition to being a regular member of the Portland Jazz Orchestra. His latest recording project,  “Wood Dance,” is scheduled for release in June 2017. Sakash is the music department chair at Fryeburg Academy.

 Bradley Backstage flips the theater by seating the audience on stage with the performers, creating a much more intimate experience. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students.
