LEWISTON – Central Maine Medical Center announced that registered nurse Mary McRae is a national winner of the prestigious 2004 Cherokee Inspired Comfort Award.
McRae is a clinical coordinator on the cardiopulmonary nursing unit at Central Maine Medical Center. She was chosen for the genuine care that she provides to her patients, their families, her colleagues and community.
Cherokee Uniforms developed this national recognition program honoring health care professionals who have touched the lives of others through exceptional service, sacrifice and innovation. “Mary is a true role model for other nurses at our hospital,” said Sharron Sieleman, vice-president of nursing. “I believe the quote in her commendation letter really captures our view of Mary by saying her commitment to provide a working environment that exemplifies clinical excellence, professionalism, compassion, and creativity, all while meeting the diverse and considerable needs of those in your community, represents to us the heart and soul of the nursing profession.”
