AUBURN – Steven R. Huber, a physical therapist and local business owner, recently visited Japan to attend and speak at the 22nd International Kinesio Taping Symposium. The symposium was held on April 14 and 15 in Tokyo, Japan.
The symposium allowed health care providers to interact and share experiences with the use of Kinesio Tex Tape and included an introduction of new material by Dr. Kenzo Kase, the inventor of Kinesio Tex Tape.
Huber, of Huber Associates, 637 Minot Ave., was invited by Kase to present based on his experience teaching nationally and internationally and because of his unique research on Kinesio Tex Tape, ALS and central nervous system applications.
Huber is a physical therapist, orthotist and a certified Kinesio taping instructor. He is the only instructor north of Boston and is scheduled to do eight seminars in the United States this year.
Kinesio taping is a therapeutic technique offering the patient or athlete the support they are looking for while rehabilitating the affected condition.
