WILTON — A Rumford woman had a scary ride Thursday morning when her vehicle slid on icy Route 2 near the Pond Road, police said.

Makaila Conley, 21, was traveling east at about 6:30 a.m. in a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer when it slid into the opposite lane, Wilton officer Ethan Kyes said. She overcorrected, hit more ice and the SUV went airborne over a snowbank and landed on its tires.

Conley was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital by a NorthStar ambulance to be checked out because she is pregnant, Kyes said.

Members of Wilton Fire and East Dixfield Fire assisted at the scene.
