FARMINGTON — Pinocchio and Cybil are the Pets of the Week at the Franklin County Animal Shelter.
Pinocchio is the dog of the week. He is a 1-year-old with lots of energy, and has been DNA tested to be an American Staffordshore Terrier, Beagle and Greyhound mix. Highly intelligent and playful, Pinocchio seeks a stable home with someone who has lots of time — kennel life is not for him — and no other pets to compete with for attention. He enjoys the company of older children who understand his energetic personality.
Cybil, the Cat of the Week, who is between 1 and 3 years old, used to spend a lot of time hiding under the couch when she came to the shelter, but now she has come out of her shell. One of the longest shelter residents, Cybil is ready for her “fur-ever” home in a place where she can become more comfortable and confident.
Pinocchio, Cybil and other pets may be visited at the shelter from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays at
550 Industry Road. Cats and dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption and have been vaccinated for rabies, treated for fleas, microchipped and have had nail trims. The shelter also rehomes barn cats, livestock and other pets.
