LEWISTON — Mayor Robert Macdonald is seeking citizen volunteers to serve on city boards and committees that range from historical buildings to zoning, according to a news release.

Members are needed for: Board of Appeals, Finance Committee, Historical Preservation Review Board, Lewiston/Auburn Community Forestry Board, Lewiston Public Library board of trustees and Planning Board.

The City Charter says the Board of Appeals and Planning Board cannot have more than two members serving from the same ward; the goal is to ensure adequate and balanced representation from all parts of the city.

Lewiston residents may contact the City Clerk’s Department to complete a committee volunteer application. Application forms are also available on the city’s website at www.lewistonmaine.gov, along with committee descriptions.

Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled.

Completed applications must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Department. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For information, contact the City Clerk’s Department at 207-513-3124.
